Oct 16, 2007 Pale hazy golden look with a white creamy head. Aroma is decent spicey and citric. Flavor is rather bitter and acidic for a wheat, with only a minor actual wheat flavor. All in all ok though.

Nov 27, 2002 Cloudy tan hued peach. Thick, compact, foamy eggshell head. Steady carbonation. Weak aroma of cloves and wheat. Mildly cottony with a crisp underbelly. Average Weizen flavors with a leaning towards cloves. Bitter aftertaste, almost chalky. Medium body. Dry wheat flavor. Not very tart or fruity. One of the more bitter versions as well. Tartness arises as it warms. Gets yeasty, more chalky as well. Finishes gritty, mildly tart with lemon hints and a dollop of vanilla. Underwhelming version coming out the homeland.

Sep 17, 2006 Updated: Sep 2, 2007König Ludwig Weiss - Originally sampled from draught but unrated until this bottle from Uto. Straw coloured with a light cream head. Aroma of yeast and banana with a taste to match. Crisp with a light start and rich finish. A firm favorite, well suited to the bannofie pie for dessert.

May 10, 2003 A pretty boring example of the style. Cloudy yellow with a short-lived off-white head. Nose is musty, with a touch of banana. Fairly bland flavor, dominated by bready malts. Hint of bitterness. Why bother when you can get much better Weissbier for less?

Aug 4, 2009 Draught at Kaisla 0.25L glass. Quite mild nose of banana. Pale head. Soft mild taste with slight banana notes. Hazy pale yellow colour.

Mar 6, 2003 3/05/03: bottle. golden yellow color. very heavy yeast nose. surprisingly tasty. other than having lots of yeast to the taste there are also distinct flavors of honey, lemon, and some fruits. nice and refreshing. a good one to try on a hot summer day. (note to self: this beer enjoyed while watching ice fall from the sky. you gotta love that ohio weather!)

Jul 9, 2007 Poured from a 330ml bottle, under the alias "Konig Ludwig Weiss", into a shaker. This hefe poured a hazy golden color with a head of small, fizzy white bubbles. The head settled down to a thin layer that remained throughout. The aroma was typical of a hefe. It included bready yeast, clove, and some faint citrus notes. The flavor was clove, yeast esters, some light spices, and faint citrus. Very crisp and refreshing. The mouthfeel was light to medium-bodied with very noticable, lively carbonation. This was a very well done hefeweizen.
