Hazy pale yellow gold, creamy white head that doesn’t linger a long time. Nice banana esters, a little clove and wheat - fresher than I expceted. Good in the mouth, filling the mouth with lively carbonation and malt and banana ester sweetness but still slender enough to be drinkable. Mild phenols and wheaty mealiness bring me back for more. Certainly felt like another one at the end. Very simple but I think this is very much along the lines of the Weissbier I’ve been looking for. Very nice for a beer that has come this far.

This one pours cloudy, very pale yellow color with a small white head that lingers. The aroma is yeasty with a hint of banana. Medium bodied with low carbonation for a German wheat, the palate is a little watery and the flavor is mostly yeasty with some banana and bubblegun hints. Good aroma and a decent flavor, not a bad wheat beer except for the slightly watery palate. Hangover (768), Atlanta, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 20, 2007 On tap at Smokeless Joe’s in Toronto. (There called Konig Ludwig Weiss.) Pale yellow cludy color - somewhat flat aroma with bare hints of fruit and spice. Mediocre level of enjoyment is marred by a glue-like aftertaste in the flavor I can assume should not be there. So is this the inspiration for the (far superior) Denisons Weisse? I’ll take my nine bucks (sheesh) elsewhere next time. I really don’t remember the ’envelope-adhesive’ flavor from tasting it at BeerBistro earlier this summer but it’s gross and i rate ’em as I taste ’em, Mein lieber Prinz. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2008 Tap in Germany. Pours with a beautiful hazy yellow with a nice head and excellent lacing. Aromas of cloves, wheat and banana. Flavors of yeast, bread and a bit of hop bitterness. Quite refreshing and nice. mmmbeer (752), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2008 11.2 oz bottle (labeled Konig ludwig weissbier) poured into weizen glass- poured transparent golden yellow, medium semi-live carbonation, white head bubbled away quickly, aroma of yeast with light undertones of clove and bananas. Hits the mouth with a thin body, a touch of bitterness at the start, middle is full of wheat and banana, finish is a little watery and drops off sharply. Pawola22 (752), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Not really what I was hoping for...light orange see through with a slight yeasty haze. Had a real watered down look to it. Smelled of wheat, malt, lemon, and a mellow spice...maybe corriander. Tasted of wheat, yeast, crispy citrus. Pretty malty, no hop taste at all which isn’t surprising for a hefe. Very light and partially chewy with no real lingering aftertaste. Overall it was nothing special, but it was better than having a shitty American lager on tap. I guess it was just a little too simple. djd07 (741), Houston, Texas, USA

The aroma is banana and clove with a bit of spice. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet honey and light malt with a dry finish. A decent Hefe from Konig.
