I'm reviewing a bottle of Konig Ludwig Weiss which I'm told is the same brew as this one here.
Recently Erdinger has dissapeared from our local shelves due to some legal battle with the distributer. Almost as quickly, this beer has seemed to show up everywhere. It's being distributed in 6 packs of 11.2oz brown bottles. This is one of the cloudiest weizens I've had, deep golden and similar in color to the Schneider Weisse but not quite as dark. Produced a decent looking head which settled down to a thin film that lingered the entire session. The aroma is big on this one, clove and banana with banana being more up front. Mouthfeel is full and pleasant. Flavor is nice with a good wheat malt flavor that is spicy and a bit citrusy. Banana is noticable more as it warms. The flavor here is similar to the Ayinger with a bigger banana flavor. I'd say this is a good replacement to the Erdinger except it has a bigger flavor and is spicier, which I'd favor but some Erdinger fans may not care for. yayforbeer (648), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Pleasant but faint aroma typical of a hefe. Taste was also that of a typical hefe, but very soft, smooth, and mild. No off flavors, just enjoyable and highly drinkable, plus an extra point for being cheap.. :) $7.50 for a sixer. mike1977ok (648), Netherlands

Wheat aroma with banana and corn notes. Medium body and yeasty flavor with typical for the kind banana notes. Above average but nothing over the top. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA

Aroma of bananas, bubble gum, spices. The flavor is more spices than standard, a very nice flavor to it. Viper666 (630), Greenfield Park, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 23, 2007 Bouteille, courtoisie de Jean-Marc G. . HermanW (630), Coevorden, Netherlands

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Jun 3, 2009 This looks like your typical Hefe cloudy golden honey body with a quarter inch of thick creamy head nothing to special about it. The smell how ever is killer, chalky banana accented with lemon no scratch that its jolly rancher sour pineapple, its even the perfect strength not weak and not over powering, great smell I just keep sniffing it I can’t get enough. Dammit!!! beer taste like crap, very very watery feel to it and not smooth like a hefe should be. Very week wheat malt flavor and the banana clove dosn’t really show up until the after taste. None of the fantastic smell was carried forward into the taste how is that even possible, there is a pool water flavor to this beer, bleach maybe?!?!?!? what ever it is its killing the malt flavor. Very disappointing hefe, one of the worst I’v ever had, not the worst but very close to it, and yet this is still drinkable.
