Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Fantastic aroma with grape and GOOD yeast, Creamy excellent lasting head, acitic in taste, but average finish. You can feel grapefruit both when you smell lokk and taste this good weissbeer.

As Konig Ludwig Weiss. Aroma of banana, a bit of yeast, and something of pilsener hop. Cloudy gold color with a ferocious white head that does a little lacing. Starts with medium body, banana, more banana, then yeast and some spice. More than clove. The carbonation renders it nearly chewy. Then it thins, and the finish is clovy spice, in a light way, followed by watery banana, and maybe a bit of hop. Very unbitter finish. Very good ale. Real ale by the way.

Yet another rating on this one. The body is a dark a cloudy gold. It has a decent white head. The aroma is subtle pear and banana with a hint of clove. The taste is bubblegum and some light clove. There is also a some banana peel. A decent hefe.

Original rating (6-3-6-3-13=3.1): Sweet banana, slight spice nose. Opaque golden orange-straw with pillowy white head. Mild banana, lemon and slight sulfur in short, dry flavour. Lively carbonation but mouthfeel is very light. Bottle (at Berlin restaurant).
Rerate (6-4-6-4-13=3.3): Strong, sweet banana and wheat aroma that is simple and enticing. Opaque yellow body with a generous and lasting, white, fine bubbled head that leaves some lace. Banana flavour is creamy with a lightly tart wheat flavour and clove-like spiciness in the finish. Crisp carbonation to the medium-light body. Sampled on tap at Charlie’s Bar in Copenhagen.

Clowdy yellow colour, with a standard wheat nose, and a typical wheat flavour.

Bottle. White head. Unclear golden body. Banana vanilla aroma. Not as sweet as expected, actually it has some bitterness and a good deal of carbon dioxide.

aroma of wheat, nice big initial head, maybe because it got shook aorund on the flight home. Easy on tongue creaminess, medium mouthfeel. A good brew, a decent represenattive of its style. Appropriately carbonated.
