Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

From a 11.2 oz. slender bottle, a freshness date on the back label, sampled at cellar temperature in a weizen glass. I swirled the last third in the bottle before finishing the pour. Poured a cloudy orangey dull golden with a foamy, creamy white head, decent retention, settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Aromas of lemon, clove, lightly spicy, yeast and wheat malty. Good carbonation and malty crisp, dry, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of sweet, juicy wheaty malts, a little banana bubble gum and clove spiciness, earthy yeast, a sour lemony bitterness, a slight taste of alcohol at the end, and a dry yeasty, malty finish. A really nice hefeweizen, easy and smooth to drink, can always be found in the singles/mix-a-six racks at a couple of liquor stores in my area, well worth trying if like the hefeweizen style.

Poured into Hacker-Pschorr weisse glass. Big fluffy white head and hazy unfiltered yellow. Has a big banana flavor with a spicey clove finish. I added a lemon wedge for the hell of it. This is a real tasty and refreshing hefeweiss. Not as prominent on the wheat as some Bavarian weisse. Comparable to Hacker-Pschorr.

darker yellow with good hazyness smells yeasty, clovy, some fruit tasts yeasty, clovy, citrus creamy carbonation aftertaste clove and some fruit ,hidden banana the clove-like taste seems to me to turn ,in the aftertaste ,even into something corriander-like not so much of that typical banana taste, but has another fruityness and is aromatic

(Bottle) Pours hazy yellow golden with a creamy head. The aroma is of doughy white bread, lots of banana esters, light clove, light pepper, wheat and flowers. The flavour is light sweet and light bitter with a fantastic crisp and full carbonation. Tones of wheat, dough, light grass/flowers, light clove, light banana. The mouthfeel is round and smooth. Tiny acidic and dry finish. Medium bodied.

Cloudy amber body with a soapy white head. Banana, bread, spice, and a touch of citrus make up the engaging aroma. Mild and creamy on the palate with decent carbonation. Citrus entry fades to a nice spicy finish with banana and clove. Very good hefeweizen.

Sweetish smell, also the taste. Very mildly in the taste. A good wheat beer. Mild aftertaste.

33 cl, Konig Ludwig version, bb Feb 21, 2009. Hazy, bubbly golden-orange with an inch of spongy foam above. Spicy banana bread aroma. Flavor is light citrus, bread and then a spicy-banana and wheat finish. Medium body is tongue-tingly,fairly smoothly carbonated and finishes nicely dryish.
