Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

The beer dispenses from the 330ml brown bottle a limpid gold and after decanting the beer pours, a beclouded yellow gold with the head is bright, white and creamy in texture, size is modest and after its desiccation, the lace forms a thin coating upon the glass. Nose has a bit of yeast and is backed up by sweet malt, crisp and clean, start is slightly sweet with a decent grain profile and the top light. Finish is mild in its acidity, the hops sparing in their spiciness, dry aftertaste lingers long, a drinkable beer, and one for those days when a heavy beer will not do.

On Tap @ Beer Bistro as Konig Ludwig Weissbier500 ml
Appearance :Thick haze of muddy, golden peach with solid creamy crown.3+
Nose :Clean, fruity true traditional wheat character is shown. Slightly citric background.
Flavour/Palate: Mellow palate , soft texture with medium depth. Clean wheat. This one is with charcteristical softness. Low acidity, rather on sweeter side. More tangy at finish. Overall quiet good with session like attitude. Old school is welcomed.

Cloudy tan hued peach. Thick, compact, foamy eggshell head. Steady carbonation. Weak aroma of cloves and wheat. Mildly cottony with a crisp underbelly. Average Weizen flavors with a leaning towards cloves. Bitter aftertaste, almost chalky. Medium body. Dry wheat flavor. Not very tart or fruity. One of the more bitter versions as well. Tartness arises as it warms. Gets yeasty, more chalky as well. Finishes gritty, mildly tart with lemon hints and a dollop of vanilla. Underwhelming version coming out the homeland.

The name of the beer I sampled was Konig Ludwig Weiss. Dry wheat aroma, and quite lemony and floral. As if I'd added lemon myself. Flavor bothered me at first, but kinda grew on me. Jury's still out on this one.

Fruity, citrus (lemon). Hazy, golden color, white head, few lace. Very fruity, light sweet, light citric. Very special weissbier with totally different flavors.

Stupendously huge, dense yellowish tinted head, not very stable over fully trouble, yellow-greenish beer. Banana-filled nose with a bit of grass or hay. Light spicey touch. Sweet-fruity taste with banana and a whiff of citruspeel. A spicey finish, remindful of nutmeg rather than cloves. Gets more sweet going on, however, becoming more "fade". Wheat/grist slickness, velvety texture. Slightly empty aftertaste. More than decent Weissbier, despite the size of the brewery. Only possible in Germany, I guess. Tasted as König Ludwig Weissbier Hell Thanks, Sebastian

(Rating #2113)

Spicy, yeasty aroma. Pours a straw yellow, cloudy, nice head. Satisfying spice, citrus flavour, acids present. A good example of its style. Refreshing.
