Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Purchased as a bottled "Konig Ludwig Weiss". Refreshing... Could taste the banana and had a hint of maybe a watermelon taste. cloudy yellow pour with nice head. I agree with this being a good summertime beer

Tall draft at Aurelio’s Pizza (Frankfort, IL). A Surprising addition to the draft menu at this fantastic pizza place. Poured a nice hazy yellow with a very inviting billowy white head that sticks around and laces. Aromas are very banana, clove, and notes of citrus. Taste is very similar. Refreshing, quenching with a nice more dominant citrusy lemon flavor (Surprising, since I used to consider this a largely banana Hefe). Sweet fruity esters are a bit light, but very enjoyable but aid in the refreshing feel. A very inviting Hefe that is good, but not in the top echelon.

Pale yellow-hazy body with a nice foamy head. Aroma is like a classical weizen, some citruses, banana. Smooth mouthfeel with a little acidic banana and some yeast flavour. Refreshing one.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a medium white head and a citrus, yeasty smell. Fresh taste, but a bit too plain. Nice Hefeweizen, but not the best.

A hazy yellow/orange colored beer, with a big white foamy head. The aroma of yeast, malty sweetness and fruity citrus. The taste of malt, wheat and banana’s. It’s a fresh fruity enjoyable beer for warm days.

Pours a hazy yellow with a finger of white head. Smells of banana and yeast. Tastes like banana and spice with some fruit in the aftertaste. Light body, somewhat watery. Lingering sweetness.

Yeasty, citric aroma, with a hint of clove, and very flourish indeed. Thoroughly hazy pale golden straw yellow. Really fairly attractive, looks like it would be refreshing. Very fine carbonation. Flavor follows aroma very closely in character, with a decent amount of malt, contributing to a medium body overall. The finish has a bit more of the yeast banana/clove flavor, and also a hint of citrus acidity. Pretty good, kind of similar to a witbier in texture and mouthfeel.

Brewtopia 2004: Cloudy orange with a thin white head. Banana and clove aroma, light fizzy body, sweet ending and very crisp. I would like to try a fresh one of these.
