Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

Bottle. White head. Unclear golden body. Banana vanilla aroma. Not as sweet as expected, actually it has some bitterness and a good deal of carbon dioxide.

Mmm! Fruity and citrusy, major bananas. Hazy white-gold with a fizzy white head. Not bad at all.

Nice pour, slightly cloudy with huge white head. Strong clove and fruity aromas. Goes down smooth and easy with a gentle citrus finish. A little watered down.

This bottle came in under the name of "Konig Ludwig Weiss, Royal Bavarian Hefe-Weizen". It came in a beautiful six-pack from Whole Foods. The casing has this enormous castle on it. Poured a semi-cloudy and yellowish color. At first taste came a strong sense of lemon that moved into more of a honey finish. I’m not a huge Hefe-Weizen fan, but this was definitely tasty!

The colour was nice and clean until I swirled and dropped an A bomb of sediment into my glass. Great retention with the creamy white crown and some nice sticky lacing. The aroma was very bananaish the second I pried off the cap. Now it’s more ripe bananas, spice, yeast, bit of lemon and something that reminds me of a bag of flour. The lemon has more legs than you might expect. The taste is quite fresh but this does not taste as good as it did when I first cracked it (it’s still good though). A bit watery but the yeasty spice (clove) comes through first followed by light banana. There’s something at the very back of the sip that reminds me of chocolate but isn’t...actually, it’s more at the very end of the aftertaste. Seems a bit on the thin side but overall feels nice. Good carbonation that is just enough to give it a bit of zest. Soft mouthfeel. A decent beer, a nice mild version.
