Kinz (1917), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jun 20, 2008 Konig Ludwig bottling. Light gold, surprisingly towards clear versus hazy, slight head lasted decently. Aroma was faintly of clove and a touch of banana. Flavor had a grainy wheat quality, some wateriness to it, and very light banana and clove notes. Carbonic bite. Not smooth, the esters were muted. Not particularly good, lacking character. I expected more.

Served at cellar temperature in Duvel glass. Fruity aroma full of tropical fruit, candy banana more than anything. Hazy straw body with white head. Sweet fruit flavours; candy banana, peach and possibly pineapple most prominant. Smooth on the tongue with a dry finish. Quite nice. wheelz843 (35), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Oct 7, 2008 bottle. very sweet aroma. cloudy yellow color with thick white head. kind of plain tasteing. overall not bad though. swoopjones (1179), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 1, 2008 On tap. Another nice hefe. Creamy , cloudy, cloves, bananas. etc etc. Getting tired of desribing hefes lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 30, 2008 Cloudy straw pour, nice head and lacing. Sugary cinnamon hops, somewhat fruity, like banana or raisins. Medium mouthfeel and low sweetish aroma. Nice beer, good with food, liked this one a lot. I drank this as Konig Ludwig Weissbier. xmarcnolanx (680), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA Sep 26, 2008 Aroma is sweet, banana, clove, and wheat.
Taste is fizzy, lemon, banana wheat.
Pours with a straw/golden hue, a huge head, and a very nice aroma of clove-centric banana.
The appearance and the aroma are promising, but the taste is over-carbonated, and somewhat jumbled in it’s strange lemony mix of flavors.
Overall, a good beer, but not world-class.
