Commercial Description:
This is Royal Barvarian Hefeweizen. Why are the Bavarian Royal Family and King Ludwig so important to brewing history? The Bavarian Royal Family had sole rights to brewing Hefe-Weizen on Bavaria for over 200 years. No wonder we are the leading experts on wheat beers!

1lt glass. First of all you have to know that drinking a good weissbier in a 1lt glass is perhaps one of the best feelings for a good beer fan. This one is not the best but surely satisfying. Hazy yellow color with thick white head. Honey and banana taste but not strong enough I believe. There sure are better ones.

500mL bottle, pours a golden yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of banana, vanilla and citrus. Flavour matches this. Good weiss.

330ml bottle. Bright honey gold colour with a medium tight knit head. A little cloudy with vanilla and banana overtones coming through. Nice and light in the mouth with a cleansing taste on the palate.

12oz pour. Smelled of rotting bananas immediately out of the bottle. Sticking my sniffer directly in the juice adds maybe a bit of cherry to the mix but nothing too desirable. Body follows with similar flavors, maybe a hint of vanilla and cardamom thrown into the mix. Pretty decent palate, not too sharp not too soft. Finish is decent but this is nothing that gets me too excited. One of the less appealing german-made Hefeweizens I have ever had.

Aroma of banana, light cloves and some lemongrass. Appearance was translucent gold with creamy head. Flavor pretty much matched the nose. Palate was bubbly. A run of the mill weiss.

A: Large, white, frothy head... this baby hung around for a bit, and then dissipated to about 1/2-finger for the rest of drinking. Body is a nice, dark-yellow color, and very cloudy. S: Nice notes of wheat, lemon, and pepper. T: Damned nice hefe... large taste of pepper and other spices, with a wheaty, citrusy finish. Short-average duration... just like a good hefe should taste. M: Light-bodied, yet creamy, with soft-average carbonation. D: This beer goes down great, and is a perfect session brew at 5.5%... actually, it taste even less than that. Nothing really there to make it super special, but it’s still very good and I could drink ’em all day.

Flaske 0,5 l fra Systembolaget i Kiruna - merket "König Ludwig Weissbier". Lys gylden på farge. Høyt kremaktig skum. Uklar. Aroma av citrus og blomster. Smak av citrus og litt banan: Ganske standard hveteøl - som blir passelig søt. KI=3

Bottle. Wheatmalt, yeast and fruit aroma. Unclear yellow colour with white head. Sweet flavour of wheatmalt, some smoke, yeast and fruit. MEdium body. Well balanced.
