Bottle at Old Chicago - Okemos, MI. Poured clear amber color with a moderate frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet flavor with a small bitter finish of short duration. Drinkable brew.

Straw coloured. The aroma is well, gassy and not much else. There is some malt body but a lot more fizzy water. Not very nice.

Light golden pils with a creamy white head. Sweet malt with maple-ish notes. In mouth, the malt is dryer and crisper, with nice german style hops. Some maderisation noted, as bottle is almost a year old. Medium bodied, well balanced. A very decent pils.33 cL Bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York

Tasted alongside Birra Moretti and a Mexican lager - Dos Equis. Brewed in the Maida area of Italy where the British once won a famous battle that resulted in an area of London being named after it (Maida Vale). The name means "Beer of the old man", and there's a picture of a man in a flat cap on the label. Prodel is a medium sized brewery which makes clean lagers. Italy is not known for its beer, and this is a fair example of why. Falling somewhere between the unpleasant bad quality of the Mexican, and the just about drinkability of the Moretti, this starts fairly crisp and tasty when very cold, but betrays some poor quality a few moments later once the chill has gone. There's some sweetish malt, a watery softness and a finish that is just about bitter, but can also be a bit soapy.

At Brickskeller, Wash DC, 9/2/05: Clear yellow with a huge head. Musty malt dominates. Dusty ... not that good.

Above average lager apprearance due to its frothy head. Lightly hopped aroma with a slightly sweet finish, and a very light slightly malty flavour. Overall a very basic lager.

Clear light golden coloured body with a thin soapy white head. Aroma of skunky malt, little hops and nothing else at all. Light-bodied; Skunky malt flavour with a tiny sweetness and offensive flavours. Aftertaste shows unpleasant malt tastes and the same bad skunkyness. Overall, a very bad showing and even though its new to the US, it should have never of come here! I bought this 33 cL bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 13-March-2004.
