fonefan (4888), Ulfborg, Denmark Mar 4, 2008 Cask (gravity filled jug) @ Smithfield Hotel & Bar, Manchester M4, UK. Clear medium orange color with a small, virtually none appearance, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange, butter. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft - flat. Sweet buttery malt, pear and grassy hop taste. Ok aroma but overall not my thing. Fin (2375), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Feb 1, 2008 Had this at The Smithfield, Manchester on the Saturday over the w/e of the National winter Beer Festival Poured light to mid golden in colour, some sweetness and fruits on the nose. Sweetness was immediately apparent again in the mouth along with a nice creamy vanillaness to this beer, very decent, I wonder if this is just a stronger version of the Silver Tally? Sorry my notes were sketchy, it was standing room only and details were saved onto my phone.
