Pours a slightly hazy gold with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma of caramel, maybe diacytl, along with corn, herbal hops and fruit. Flavour of grain, hops and caramel malt, slightly buttery, the finish is surprisingly bitter -- not tons or anything, just more then expected. Average to medium bodied. Not bad, I could have a few pints of this. mabel (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head that fades. 3+ Odd fruity aroma, strawberry like? What the heck! 6+ Sharp bitterness in the flavour, touch of something that might be diacytl or similar, finish is a touch astringent., touch of straw. I found it a bit rough overall. Average palate. Smells like canola - oily, dry, herbal. Taste is quite bitter and grassy, milder oiliness to the grainy malt - not too sweet, a bit earthy - solid, really. Thick body, a bit undercarbonated, surprisingly bitter in the finish. I liked it - not the smell, though. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 19, 2009 Malty aroma, no hops detected, golden, small off-white head. Taste is malt and more malt. Light bodied, a nice old fashioned beer, like a Molson Stock Ale from the 70’s. Nice beer, not a Kolsch.
