On tap at Volo. Pours a clearish orange with small-medium white head; some retention. Mild floral hoppy aroma with slight maltiness. Big earthy, floral hops in the taste yielding a nice bitter finish. Very good.

Fresh growler from the brewery. Dark hazy golden brown, small white head. Nice hoppy aroma mixed with tea and burnt malt. Taste is quite nice - tons of up front herbal bitterness, more tea, pleasant bitey finish - agressive APA by Ontario standards. Very similiar to early Srgt Major. About the best APA I have had from Ontario, nice job Publican House.

Great aroma is a bit peachy with an edge of pine, taste is a bit short of this but there is good solid body of fruit and good bitter hoppy overtones.

Clear orange-amber in colour with a thin lingering white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is mildly hoppy, some tea, caramel sweetness and some mild oranges. The flavour is nicely hopped, oranges citrus, moderate bitterness, juicy and floral. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes with a long hopped bitterness, dry at the very end.

I was actually quite surprised by this as it was quite nice. An excellent start to this new brewpub.

Growler from the Publican House Brewery in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on October 9, 2008.
No date but a very fresh growler.

A nice amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. A light hoppy aroma with light caramel and citrus notes. In mouth, a nice crisp hop with light grapefruit, balanced and pleasing. On tap at Volo, March 21, 2009.

Growler shared with Paul. Lovely clear amber body with medium carbonation, head that lasts through the pint. Aroma of citrus, melon and some pine. Sweetish flavour and body that carries the carbonation well. Juicy finish.

Growler from the brewery. This was a beautiful orange amber with a small, persistent white head. The aroma and flavour were very fresh. There was plenty of fruit in the aroma, especially orange and peach, but avocado was the most dominant, with some pine, cantaloupe melon and perhaps even papaya. Wonderful. I tasted more orange, peach, pine, still with plenty of the avocado (it would make an excellent pairing with Mexican food) in the finish.
