boboski (1095), USA Dec 17, 2007 Thin white head, quick and full recession, but for a thick ring of bubbles at the edge. The body is a hazy deep golden. The aroma, cold, is of succulent blueberry cobbler with a faint grain backdrop and hints of marshmallow. As it warms blueberry fades and a stale grain portfolio gains ground, lowering expectations for the flavor. The flavor isn’t bad at all, but there’s nothing that begs the next sip. The mouthfeel is sticky and lightly carbonated. Blueberry still dominates the taste but it’s laden with bready malt. The finish is sweet, blueberry flesh and dusty pseudo-fruit lingering.
patricks110 (156), Alberta, Canada Aug 19, 2008 341 mL bottle fromBottlescrew Bills, Calgary, AB. Pours a clear yellow gold colour with a large white head which later dissapears. Aroma is of sweet blueberrys; like a blueberry pie. Taste of blueberrys is not as strong as the aroma. Light body with a light and fizzy mouthfeel. Overall, a good beer: I hope to try theior FIre Cheifs Red Ale next. Spab (55), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2008 341 ml bottle from NSLC. Pours a clear/pale yellowish gold, with a decent sized white head. Strong blueberry aroma. Flavour is similarly strong on the blueberries with a light maltiness. Light body, fizzy carbonation and a smooth finish. IrishBoy (2129), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 12 oz bottle from mullet2007; Nose of blueberry cobbler (fruit with some sweetness); very lightly hazy gold with a small white head; tastes like fresh blueberries with some light tartness and very light bitterness as the finish. Enniskillen (1571), Port Angeles, Washington, USA Jul 5, 2008 Gold with a thin white head. Aroma is blueberry muffins with strusel topping. Taste is blueberries with a light malt accent and fading muffin like taste. Not bad especially if you love blueberries. beerbill (1272), Laurel, New York, USA Jun 29, 2008 341 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with mullet2007. Pours a mostly clear gold with a moderate white head that faded to an incomplete film by mid-glass and left very light spotty lace. Pleasant aroma of blueberries, malt and some grassy hops. The flavor is equally pleasant with malt and blueberries up front and some grassy hops at the finish with virtually no bitterness. Very refreshing and enjoyable, particularly on a muggy, hot summer afternoon.
