this is an attempt to be a Guiness clone. Easy drinking, for the beer novice. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jan 16, 2004 Updated: Jan 26, 2004Pretty good, but too "burnt bitter" for my tastes. Was described as an oatmeal stout but seems dry for that style. If you like the burnt bitter taste in your stouts, then you would want to give this a try. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Oct 17, 2002 Draught. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate, mild coffee), with notes of vanilla and cask wood. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately astringent. This batch (an ever-changing recipe, like the porter) utilizes oats and is aged with oak chips.
