notes from a long ago trip to Longmont... this is an attempt to be a Guiness clone. Easy drinking, for the beer novice.

Pretty good, but too "burnt bitter" for my tastes. Was described as an oatmeal stout but seems dry for that style. If you like the burnt bitter taste in your stouts, then you would want to give this a try.

Draught. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate, mild coffee), with notes of vanilla and cask wood. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately astringent. This batch (an ever-changing recipe, like the porter) utilizes oats and is aged with oak chips.
