Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jan 1, 2006 Draught.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is dark amber to medium brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted bread), moderately hoppy (resin), with a note of toffee.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Not sure where the cranberry’s hiding in the aroma, though there is certainly some tartness in the finish (not exactly desirable, but I suppose to be expected given the fruit being used). luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 31, 2005 Had this on-tap at the brewery. Beer poured a dark, clear amber with a medium-sized lasting off-white head. The aroma contained notes of browning sugar, caramel, raisin, cookie, toasty malt and brandy with a trace of basement funk. Not any cranberry to speak of, though. The flavor was initially lightly sweet with a moderately bitter, long, clean, hoppy finish. The palate was light with a watery texture and average carbonation.
