Notes of coriander, ginger and clove. Creamy, doughy malts. Kind of tea-like in a way. Nice yeast flavors. "Holiday Spiced Belgian Dubbel" - Deep orange with a slight haze; served with an orange wedge. Spicy aromas (coriander, pepper, clove, ginger) contrasted against a sweet malt base (sugar water, candy, honey, and sweet fruit). Big hint of bananas right upfront. Flavor is slightly sugary sweet, lots of toasted malty creaminess. Clove and bubblegum spiciness, with some corriander citrus acidity to round out the palate. Aroma is kinda strange-spicy, but I got a note of aftershave spearament thing going. Flavors are much better than the aroma-lots of spice, corriander, belgian yeast and nutmeg. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), with notes of ginger, banana, clove, coriander.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
