Pumphouse Flashpoint IPA w/Rye

Crushed with CaryTheDude. orangy yellow pour. Bitter aroma. Bitter, lemony taste. Kind of lame, typical brewpub ipa. Bitter finish with lots of carbonation.

On tap @ Pumphouse poured a lightly hazy amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of carmel, orange, light grapefruit and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of orange, carmel and light grapefruit with a smooth lingering moderatly bitter finish.

Tap @ Pumphouse: Poured a lightly hazed amber color with a medium sized off-white head. Citrusy aroma with grapefruit hops and a hint of spicy rye. Caramel base. Thin grapefruit juice taste with a malty finish. Hop bitterness and rye spice on the very end. Dry finish and light body.

On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Pours a transparent amber copper with a frothy, nicely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity hops and some caramely malt. Starts crisp and sweet with good resiny bittering and flavor hops with some toasted caramel maltiness toward a smooth, enjoyable bittersweet finish. A nice IPA.

GABF ’07. Pours clear orange with an average, rocky, off-white head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (cereal, meal), average hops (spruce, resin), average yeast (sweat) with notes of peach and pineapple. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
