Red beer, or dark copper. I’d call this an average "brewpub beer" ... like a standard recipe. BeerandBlues2 (3216), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 25, 2005 Draught. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly malty (cookie), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. American hops seemed to dominate my sample, which made me wonder how they call it an altbier, but whatever. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2004 Good orange color. Sweet, candied aroma. Taste is very robust, they are getting a lot out of the malt. Sweetness and alcohol come later in the finish. Very balanced. JohnC (2268), Mission Viejo, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2004 Good beer in the alt style. They got the caramelly-malt thing going on, with a little American hop bitterness thrown in. Nice on tap at the brewery. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2004 Clear and deep amber-orange with a thin, lasting head. Nice mouthfeel (rich, with a palate-cleansing carbonation). Malt flavors were nice: roasty, sweet (caramel) and chewy. Wholesome and earthy. Hops were rich and somewhat bitter, with notes of sweet flowers. Balanced, well-made, and easy to drink.
