Draught. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly malty (cookie), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. American hops seemed to dominate my sample, which made me wonder how they call it an altbier, but whatever.

Tap @ Pumphouse: Poured a copper color with an off-white head. Odd citrus smell almost like their other wheat beers. Same yeast maybe? I don’t know. Citrusy flavor with some toasty caramel malt. Mild bitterness on the finish. Light body.

On tap at the brewpub, 4/13/06: Milky consistency, almost. Sweet and lightly caramelly. Red beer, or dark copper. I’d call this an average "brewpub beer" ... like a standard recipe.

Clear and deep amber-orange with a thin, lasting head. Nice mouthfeel (rich, with a palate-cleansing carbonation). Malt flavors were nice: roasty, sweet (caramel) and chewy. Wholesome and earthy. Hops were rich and somewhat bitter, with notes of sweet flowers. Balanced, well-made, and easy to drink.
