Commercial Description:
A classic American Pale Ale with a rich golden hue. Flavor is predominated by three different varieties of hops. Finishes with a slight malty sweetness designed to balance the high hop levels. This is the brewer’s favorite. For those who consider themselves "hopheads"! 1999 GABF Gold Medal Winner for American Pale Ale. 75 IBU.

On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a nicely-lacing froth of clingy white head. Aroma of fairly fresh citrusy hops and mildly sweet toasty pale malt. Body starts with a decent malty sweetness and some citrusy, earthy hop balance toward a crisp, very drinkable bittersweet finish.

Clear amber appearance. Nice even Cascade hop aroma. Very frothy and carbonated. Thick, not very exciting, but still some sweet subtle hop flavor on top of a big wheat/bread malt presence.

Draught. Dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie), moderately hoppy (citrus - grapefruit, resin), with a light note of apricot. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately astringent. This 75 IBU resiny/grapefruity pale ale will undoubtedly get higher marks from bigger fans of the style, but it’s pretty well-balanced and reasonably enjoyable even for me.

Tap @ Pumphouse: Poured a lightly hazed dark copper color with a small off-white head. Grapefruit and citrus aroma with some malt trying to get through. The flavor was dominated by grapefruit hops and some caramel. Bitter rind finish. Long bitter finish. Light to medium body.

On tap at the brewpub, 4/13/06: Golden copper. Pleasantly hoppy, but not over the top. Nice little American pale ale, but it did have a bit of an off wood-chip flavor.
