Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Apr 23, 2006 On tap at the brewpub, 4/13/06: Light sugary-alcohol essence. Good warming aspect, but it didn’t capture me. MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA Oct 3, 2005 Dark brown color tan head carmel malt hint of chocolate and some light spice in the aroma. Avg body well coated. Flavor is very sweet carmel brown sugar and a warm alcohol in the swallow with some spice in the aftertaste. Odd but good. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 25, 2005 Draught.
Body is medium brown.
Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, caramel), with notes of cinnamon and pumpkin.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Bizarre spiced aroma with only light malt character, and kind of light on flavor. Not what I’d call "to style", but not really that enjoyable regardless of style either. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jun 20, 2004 TAP A fairly true representation of the style. It is sort of smoky and caramelish; just a little bit of hop due mostly to the freshness I believe. A nice beer. mj (4971), Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2003 GABF 2003: Dark amber. Not much of an aroma, just some light smoke and nuts. Rick toffee and amaretto, nuts, and vanilla flavors. Palate is slightly rough, and quite satisfied.
