Jan 16, 2004 Draft. Tasted much like an 8% Newcastle Brown Ale. It was sort of cloying. Not as smoky as I would have liked. Overall decent though.

Dec 22, 2003 Dark brown and a little cloudy. Very mild soap and pine aroma. Some nuts and raisins with a sharp
scotch presence. Bitter and astringent, full bodied, with a nice nutty scotch finish.

Nov 23, 2003 Nice copper-red color with a decent head. Very smooth texture with excellent carbonation. Nippy notes of alcohol. Mild bitterness. Sweet smoke nuances.

Apr 29, 2003 On draught, this brew has a cloudy copper body w/ a nice balance between bitter & malty. Pretty tasty.

(caramel, cookie), with a note of brown sugar. Flavor
is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly
sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy
texture, lively carbonation. Once one of their best, the most recent sample was pretty lackluster.
