ratman197 (2242), Arvada, Colorado, USA Nov 25, 2007 On tap @ Pumphouse poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of spice, toffee, brown sugar and carmel. Palate was light b odied and crisp. Flavors of spice, toffee and brown sugar with a crisp spiced finish.

Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), with notes of banana and clove.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Man, you could have told me this was their Dunkelweizen and I would have believed you. It’s no abbey single, that’s for certain. A dubbel is even a stretch. Just a generic, sweet, banana-clove brown ale IMHO. It’s ok but there’s not much abbey about it.
