Okay then. First, full disclosure: This is my least-liked style EVAR!!! That stated, I *can* rate to style (and I’ve had way too many nasty versions, so if anything, I’ll rate this way to well for style).
Pours a cloudy golden color which had a nice head, but it didn’t last and left no lacing.
Aroma was subdued pumpkin with a tiny bit of spice, mostly nutmeg. Pleasant.
Flavor, I have to say, is quite good! Think pumpkin pie watered down just a bit, and I mean that in a good way. Add a bit of carbonation and this is what you have, though without the crust.
Palate...You know, it’s amazingly clean for the style! Overall, I must admit that I was skeptical when I sat down with this. But flat out, this is by far the best beer I’ve had of this style bar-none. Let me go so far as to say that I usually avoid this style like you wouldn’t believe, but I will head back to buy more of this beer -- and if that’s not an endorsement, I don’t know what is. And keep in mind, I’m grading this TO STYLE!!!
