Nov 5, 2009 Updated: Nov 6, 2009 Small batch experiment brewed by Hales. It happened to be on the only unmarked tap and may not appear again, but I’m voting for this to become a seasonal staple. Stygian body with a slightly browned, firm, luscious cream top. Masterfully nuanced bouquet of coriander, allspice, and warming nutmeg with a prick of cinnamon. Perhaps the most memorable dark pumpkin brew I have enjoyed to date. Easy roast body with chocolate and chai licks. Nutmeg and allspice are artfully massaged into the palate followed by soft cinnamon-chai and roast barley blush on the finish. Delicious, absolutely stand-out dark pumpkin beer. Flavorful, well balanced, and nuanced.
