Serendipity is the only word to describe how this marvelous cider came about. Its roots were in a series of experiments to produce an Ice Cider. And even though that particular trial didn’t turn out as hoped, it showed great promise to evolve into a different style of cider. This new style became Pup’s Houndstooth. It’s rich and full-bodied with a strong fruit nose and just a hint of residual sweetness. You’ll instantly recognize its New England antique apple roots; the late-pressed heirlooms provide the sugars for the alcohol, and the concentrated tannins and acids that bring out the body. This cider has been very well received. At tasting events, nearly everyone who tries it takes home a few bottles. But it is a somewhat "limited edition" offering, since only a small supply of late harvest fruit is available to us. Pup’s Houndstooth is best served lightly chilled. Enjoy it on its own, or with an equally full-flavored meal. The alcohol content is 12%; this cider contains sulfites
