Commercial Description:
Brewed by the original Wheat Beer Pioneers, Amber Weizen is left unfiltered for extra flavor and aroma. Rich amber in color, Pyramid Amber Weizen features three different kinds of caramel barley malts and nugget hops resulting in an exceptionally smooth and well-balanced beer that follows in the tradition of our flagship style, Pyramid Hefe Weizen.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber with a moderate white head that diminished quickly. Moderate balanced sweet hoppy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Average balanced sweet malt flavor with a small bitter finish of average duration.

Pours dark amber with a fully receding head. Aroma of caramel and wheat, pretty bland. Taste is lightly sweet, with a little bit of caramel crispiness going on, but the flavors are all muddled together. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Drinkable, but not enjoyable.

Dark copper colored ale with a decent sized head. Tastes of malts, caramel, and a bit of citrus. Wasn’t as smooth as I had expected, sort of thick. Average at best.

Bottle. Ugly muddy brown with no head. Nose-citrus, dusty, muted, almost non-existent. Taste-apple, light caramel, cinammon, citric zest, high CO2. Kind of thin. The thinness and high CO2 do not complement each other. The wheat flavor is nicely done. This is what I would figure that a BMC wheat would taste like. Easy to drink and unoffending, but not good.

12oz bottle pours amber and cloudy with a fair white head that stays pretty well and laces some. Aromas of caramel, bannana, and a bit of lemon. Flavor is nice caramel, yeast, bannana, a bit of bubble gum. Smooth palate that finishes with a grainy aftertaste. Drinkable.
