Commercial Description:
Brewed by the original Wheat Beer Pioneers, Amber Weizen is left unfiltered for extra flavor and aroma. Rich amber in color, Pyramid Amber Weizen features three different kinds of caramel barley malts and nugget hops resulting in an exceptionally smooth and well-balanced beer that follows in the tradition of our flagship style, Pyramid Hefe Weizen.

Poured from tap at Berkeley Pyramid ale house a hazy brown with small white head and low carbonation. Nose of caramel and sweet toast. Flavor checks in with lightly sweet caramel and some grainy notes. The palate is slightly watery and there is no hop presence with the only tart bitterness coming from the grain. Not bad, not great.

Pours a hazy amber weizen color with a medium size creamy head. Nose is sour and a bit malty. Taste is matly wheat. What this hybrid sort of style attempts to do, end up failing in both catergories. Not bad but just meek.

Pyramid Amber Weizen is a pale amber beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is full of wheat with hints oh honey and light, not pale, malt. The flavor is also full of wheat with honey and very light natural cherry hints.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange golden color with a small white head. The aroma is very fruity and a light malt. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a light sweet malt with a fruity finish. A decent wheat ale from Pyramid

Cloudy amber color with a mediocre off-white head. Grainy breadlike aromas. Weak bread/biscuit flavors. Not a lot there.

Amber in color with an ok head. Hazy. Fruitness in the smell. Blandish in the flavor. Not really any discinction.

Another so-so beer from Pyramid, but what do you expect from an American wheat?. Nothing too exciting offered with this brew. The beer pours out a nice deep amber color with a really small head. Aromas are a bit of cracker, very light fruit. Same with the taste. A bit too carbonated for my liking in a wheat beer. Overall, boring. But nothing horrendous about it.

served cold from bottle. pours a hazy copper/orange with a minuscule (barely-there) head. the aroma is malty with hints of fruits. the flavor is quite sweet but also the characteristics of a typical wheat beer. i enjoyed it, as i enjoy most pyramid wheat beers. high drinkability level.
