Swirled the last half inch in the bottle to obtain the yeast and poured into the glass. The yeast was suspended throughout the glass creating a wonderful effect. Decent aroma of caramel malts. Smooth and full mouthfeel complimented by a nice overall flavor and nice finish. I like the concept of an amber weizen and this brew seemed to capture the concept rather well. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA

Rather light palate, but typical for the style. More flavorful than their regular hefeweizen, in my opinion. Good mouthfeel, with some light malty flavors and hefe. Dry aftertaste. A pretty enjoyable brew overall. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

A great amber hazy color. This was a wheat flavor and malt that was awesome. A great flavor and a fun easy to drink beer. doubelknv3 (568), Illinois, USA

As distinctive as advertised (finally) -- a sweeter, richer take on the typical wheat beer. Very appealing rust color with unfiltered cloudiness. Excellent session beer and worth seeking out. Brilliant! rmussman (905), California, USA

Not as great as their hefeweizen but definitely a unique brew that I have never sampled before. Flavor is a little flat though but still an alright beer. Another bland American wheat, little in flavor, some malt, but, bland, tasted like old Newcastle to me, drinkable, but nothing really enjoyable, Eh. Strykzone (1475), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Interesting beer. There are some nice flavors that almost cancel each other out. Sweet malt, dark fruit, hefe flavors, etc. can all be detected but none come out at all. A balanced beer is a great thing but in this one the flavors just don’t work together at all.
