| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Draft at Pyramid Alehouse, Seattle. My favorite of the tasting flight. As distinctive as advertised (finally) -- a sweeter, richer take on the typical wheat beer. Very appealing rust color with unfiltered cloudiness. Excellent session beer and worth seeking out. Brilliant! BrewDad (2393), Olympia, Washington, USA

A great amber hazy color. This was a wheat flavor and malt that was awesome. A great flavor and a fun easy to drink beer. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of wheat, caramel malt, figs, cloves..very weissbockish aroma. Medium palate. The taste is a bit of a letdown after the aroma, but this one is good regardless. Try this on draft if you can. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2004 "Special Release"..12 oz brown bottle with a rather attractive summery coloured rendition of the traditional Pyramid label.
Wow this beer is really unfiltered a dense foggy dark amber with a small tan head..some sediment in bottom of bottle..I like this.
aroma is of a typical American wheat though..sort of sour but very subdued compared to the german versions.
the taste is quite nice for the summer..light and fruity, not too cloying though..the wheat aspect comes through a bit on the back of the tongue.
Quite smooth and not thin on the palate.
I actually enjoyed this one..not great but good enough for summer. jimmack34 (570), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with a decent fizzy head. Smells of a veryt nice malt grain and caramel. Tastes of a grainy, wheaty malt, straw, some citrus, very nice maltiness. Almost like an irish red. Pretty good stuff. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2005 A strong, above average american style amber. Apperantly the brewary is prepairing a label change that will change the name from Amber Weaten to Amber Weizen. Presumably to feed off the tremendous popularity of thier Hefeweizen. Very good beer if you like Alaskan Amber but long for something just a little different. webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2006 I could best describe as a ESB mashed with a Hefeweizen. Less weaty than you tpyical hefe, and just malty enough to bring up memories of a Scottish malty bitter. Pours a cloudy cider brown with little to no head. Fruity taste and aroma, close to a light sour pear (but in a good, sweet way). Pretty tasty , and if I had more, I would have drank more. Very light on the toungue, almost wanting somethign a bit thicker, but stuck to the typical hefeweizen mouth feel. (Bottle Pour 10/19/2006)
