Commercial Description:
Our flavorful apricot ale boldly combines the taste and aroma of fresh apricot with the smooth finish of wheat malt. Its refreshingly unfiltered character and fruit flavor make it an ale worth savoring.

There is a ton of apricot in the aroma here and it is very sweet and inviting. In appearance this beer is unfiltered with some larger objects floating around. The first tastes are dominated by apricot also. However, there is very little sweetness but tartness instead. For me this beer held promise of two great flavors combined. I love weizens and also apricot, but together here just doesn’t work. The wheat flavors can’t get past he apricot and actually muddy it. Well, even late in the glass there has been no improvement. Perhaps the bottle was past its date, I didn’t check.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with white head. Aroma is awesome apricot and malt . Flavor is apricot and wheat. Very yummy and I’m not usually a fan of fruit beers.

Pours a hazy apricot (ha ha) color. Aroma lets you know that there will not be any subtleness with the apricot. Taste is pretty one dimensional with strong apricot flavor with slight wheat and yeast flavor. I was expecting a weizen with apricot notes but this was apricot all the way.

(Bottle) Pours hazy light brown with small white head. Strong apricot aroma... exactly like dried apricots. Rather carbonated, almost over-carbonated. Tastes of apricot with malts towards the finish. The finish was a little disappointing because it kind of went no where. Odd aftertaste as well. A good brew to try, but not to drink every day.

From a stubby twist cap brown bottle with a "enjoy by" date stamped on the neck label, 08.17.06, just made the deadline. Poured an unfiltered golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing. Big aroma of apricot juice and a backing of wheat malt with a touch of yeast. Moderate carbonation overall and a softly crisp, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Pleasant, but average tasting for a fruit beer, big apricot juiciness at first, a sour fruitiness follows that I believe comes from the yeast and wheat malts, a soft spicy hop bitterness towards the end and a sour fruity finish, not bad drinkability on a hot August day, but pretty average in comparison to other fruit beers. Purchased as part of a mix-a-six of Pyramid brews at Trader Joe’s, this wasn’t bad, but one is all I need.

I was shockled and impressed with this ale. having passed it over numerous times I finally gave it a shot and was suprised how well i liked it considering my disdain for apricots (a texture thing, not flavor). IT has a heavy apricot flavor but it is balanced well with a mellow, malty wheat accent. Very sweet and refreshing - would not drink it too often but it is a nice brew.

Hazed golden amber, thin white creamy head. Nose was all about apricot that had a toasty, grassy, sweet malt edge to it. Flavor was obviously fruity, with touches of sweet grassiness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, fruity finish. I have always liked this beer for a hot summer day, and I continue to do so as its good for deck days with the gril all fired up...
