Commercial Description:
Our flavorful apricot ale boldly combines the taste and aroma of fresh apricot with the smooth finish of wheat malt. Its refreshingly unfiltered character and fruit flavor make it an ale worth savoring.

I rally can not see how this beer get so trashed by so many raters here. Not macho enough for you? I have had this one a number of times and have been consistently pleased with it. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy medium gold color with a medium sized yellow-tan head. The aroma is wonderfully strong with sweet apricot. The flavor is very sweet and strong apricot with a decent light malty undertone. The beer turns dry on the flavor towards the finish. While the malts are not particularly strong they manage to lend a fair amount of "beer" flavor to this one so that the fruit is not the totality of the brew.

Bottle. Slightly hazy yellow orange, thin to non existent head. Aroma of peach, apricot, candy. It does smell like a jolly rancher. Flavors of apricot with a Bud Light type finish, to me not much else going on taste wise. Very thin, watery and a little carbonated. I’d rather drink Bud Light.

My bottle was a CLEAR golden orange with a quickly fading white head. Aroma of apricot Jolly Rancher hard candy. Flavor up front is a blast of artificial-tasting apricot; tastes like you’re drinking apricot bath soap. Has notes of lemon and citrus. Moderately sweet, very little bitterness. Ends thin and watery with moderate carbonation.

Bottle, from Wild Oats, Hinsdale, IL. Ah, fruit beers. I try and try ’em, trying to attain some sort of satisfaction. Usually I don’t, but what the hell. I’ll try anything five or six times. This pours out a bit cloudy and, yes, apricot color. There was a big fluffy weizen hed at first, but it was completely gone in less than a minute. Smell is a bit like a fruit-scented soap. Flavor is a little more encouraging, like an apricot marmalade, then a dry fruity wine. Gassy, and kind of overfilling; and not very refreshing. I suspect a tap or cask version might do better, as the bubbles really get in the way. I know I’m rating this lower than some of the crappier pale lagers in my life, but even a crappy pale lager can refresh you in the right circumstances.

Pours a dark hazy orangish amber color. Aromas of apricots, malts, and bread. Flavor is wheat bread with apricot preserves on it, way to fruity for my taste. Its all I could do to suck this one down.

12 oz. bottle. Hazy golden with a mostly diminishing white head. Strong apricot/peachy aroma, somewhat artificial. Dry and wheaty with light apricot flavours. Light bodied with a dry finish.

12oz bottle from 24 variety pack: Pours a cloudy dark orange color, very strong apricot aroma overpowers anything else, medium-sized head quickly diminishing, got some sediment when I poured it, let it settle a bit before I drank, finely carbonated apricot flavor, overpowers other flavors, light taste, refreshing, slighty bitter aftertaste.
