Smooth palate, mild on carbonation with flavors of caramel, barley-malt, and mild crisp hops. I’m not sure why I keep buying amber ales. They’re so popular so I keep expecting an Amber to bedazzle me, but they’re like the pale lager or ales. TheLeadDog (101), Kent, Washington, USA

smell is grain, caramel, walnuts.
taste is sweet and nutty at first, then the malt hits but not like, in your face, smooth, and a touch of bitter, leaves the mouth a bit sweet and dry, nice finish.
one of the better ones from pyramid, who i normally don’t rate that high. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

Copper in color with a thick hea.d This was a good deep rich malty flavored beer with a light amount of hops. I liked this beer it was a tad thicker for those cooler days. Nice drinking beer. mikey (336), farmington, Utah, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Poured a brown/orange with a terrific head. The nose is strong. There’s big malt aroma, scotch wiskey and carmel. The taste is less bold. The malt is there, but thin. Brown sugar is strong also. The end is of weak hops which throws the balance off. Better hop balance would have made this much better.
