Nice malty aroma, caramel with orchard fruit. The fruit disappears from the flavor to be replaced by a light herbal bitterness. Mostly harmless.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Pours a near clear copper amber with minimal head. Malty pleasant aroma. Flavor is caramel and a touch vegetal. Better than many ambers that i’ve had, but still nothing to write home about. cheapdark (2037), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Interesting name for an amber ale. Slaggish with some mild hops in the aroma. Color is clear and somewhat like iced tea. Taste is somewhat like slag too, in its own special way. Quite like a stronger lager. Does not hide the 6.5% alky well. Malt and hallertau al the way. Big strongish taste bud impact. Difficult for a lager lover to endure at times. Medicinal finish but not hoppy medicinal. Glad to have had the chance to taste it but probably would not buy again. Probably stronger than most amber ales, the style its listed under. Most likely should be in a strong something category. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Pours a copper brown with almost no head. Coaxes a thin light tan one. The aroma has a strange off character, a tad sweet, definitely a pungent slight bandaid smell, some grassy hops, malty sweetness. The flavor is sharp, has a strange off taste, malty and sweet, some hop character but definitely muddled.Crisp and sweet on the mouth. nearbeer (1860), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 23, 2008 12 oz. Clear dark copper with a small lasting ring of foam. Caramel-sour apple aroma. Same tastes with a touch of nutmeg-ginger and some woody hops and alcohol. Light-medium body is mostly smooth, and drier than expected. gsmitty80 (650), Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2008 This beer was as to be expected. Rather heavily malted but the taste is pretty dead on to what it is explaining it to be. Very dark and earthy taste almost smokey or pumpkinney but not. killjoy966 (227), Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Beautifully (and appropriately) amber in color. I gave it a middle of the road aroma rating since I can’t seem to smell much of anything right now. Rather hoppy for an amber ale and I’m not sure if I like that or not. It certainly rounds out the flavor, but is kind of bitter for the style.
