| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Ugh...this is an awful amber ale. Pour was a flat dark red/amber with no head. The color is amazing but the flatness and the lack of head/bubbles makes it boring. Aroma was rotting vegetables. Taste was very malty but that vegetative aspect overpowers everything. Decent carbonation, but the rotting flavor/aroma bring it down. Blah. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep orange with red tinges, small off white head. Sweet malt, earthen herbal hops, and a buttery note in the aroma. Slight alefruit and caramel malt flavors, with lingering diacetyl. Somewhat coarse herbaceous hop character then manifests. Hop flavors devolve into a medicinal twang in the finish, accompanied by appley malt. Mouthfeel is a light medium. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours copper with 1-finger frothy white head. Nose is caramel malt, fruit, hops, and some vinyl notes. Tastes caramel malty, with vinous fruit, slight yeast, spicy nutmeggy notes. This one reminds me of a Christmas ale with the spices and malt profile, which overtake the hops. Sleeper (76), Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Pours with a quick settling head. Smells of sweet malt. Nice clear amber color. Taste is malt and slight citrus, just enough hops for balance. A very nice brew for the fall season. cathcacr (592), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 3, 2008 Light malty/bocky nose, bready nose & flavor, not exactly bold or assertive, just an above-average outing that manages to keep one’s attention.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Amber colored brew with a nice caramel malt nose with a touch of floral/citrus hops. Smooth and sweet initially followed by a soft floral/citrus blast. The malt is smooth and nice. The hops are simply there for balance. thooper41 (392), Oregon, USA
