Commercial Description:
An American style light bodied wheat ale that is refreshingly flavorful. Crystal wheat ale was inspired by Pyramid’s first beer in 1984 the wheaten ale, which was the first year round wheat beer brewed in America since prohibition

Pours light amber with a 1 inch white head. Few lacings. Nice vegetal aroma. Taste is sweet malts and slightly bitter hops. Good balance, good session brew. Good beginner brew. Very drinkable. Dry, bitter finish.

The aroma is decent with notes of lemon peel and sweetness. It doesn’t appear too appealing with its pale lager color and minimal head. This beer was quite refreshing and flavorful however, with citrus, slight malt, and mild bitter finish. This wheat ale is ok; I’d prefer an unfiltered wheat instead. Cheers!

2008 Bottle - Pours yellow with a small white head, malty aroma, yeasty, citrusy - flavour is almost a cross between a sour and a hef, biscuity citrus, finishes clean and lemony, good summer brew....

This is good beer. I think it tastes almost identical to Pyramid hefe, but pours a crystal clear. Is just a filtered Pyramid Hefe? You be the Judge.

clear yellow gold, two finger head of fluffy white small bubbles. strong yet soft dry baked wheat aroma. soft, light, and dusty on the palate with a little peak of bitterness if only for a second. balanced nicely, the initial sweetness never gets out of control, though the style isn’t my thing.

On tap at Sac brewery. Billed as an unfiltered brew, this one was clearer than my shower door (when dry). There wasn’t anything that stood out; it was just a very smooth, yet bland, Hefe.

Clear golden beer, very slight bubbling, head is 1 inch and lasts a few minutes. Full bodied wheat aroma. Flavor is wheat, full and creamy, maybe a little vanilla, but very creamy. Appeal borders on heavy and refreshing. A small bite on the finish.

Bottle labeled Crystal Wheat Ale, and tagged an American Wheat Ale. Touch of wheat and clove in the aroma, but not much there. Pours a clear light amber with about half an inch of white head. The flavor is more hops then wheat. Bitter notes, touch of pith, and the barest hint of wheat. Very light mouthfeel. Not bad, but not the first thing I’d reach for.
