Commercial Description:
An American style light bodied wheat ale that is refreshingly flavorful. Crystal wheat ale was inspired by Pyramid’s first beer in 1984 the wheaten ale, which was the first year round wheat beer brewed in America since prohibition

Golden, sparkling. Slightly fruity, slightly wheaty. Clean and somewhat refreshing. Typical for the style in that it lacks yeast complexity or interesting malt notes. Achieving emptiness should be the purview of depressed goth kids not brewers.

Clear golden color with a moderate off-white head that settles to a solid lid of creamy bubbles. Dry, floury wheat aromas. A touch of fruit, but not much there otherwise. Crisp and clean in flavors. That said, not many flavors. Light sweet wheat, hints of light fruit and a bit of herbal hops. Some light citrus in the finish and linger.

Medium gold body with a bright white head. the aroma is light cream of wheat with hints of lemon drops. The taste is bananas with lots of clove spice in the finish. This has more character thanI was expecting. A relatively thick and sticky mouthfeel, surprising as this is a filtered wheat brew. Decent.

Gold color with a medium head. Light lemon aroma. Light wheat flavor. When I say "light wheat flavor" here, I really mean: barely detectable. And really, that’s about it. It’s like Miller High Life with two sprinkles of wheat.

12oz bottle pours light wheat yellow in color with a white head, slight chill haze. Nose of musty wheat and grains and a lighter note of moldy, old honey. Flavor is sticky honey sweet malts, light wheat, light dried fruit... not too complex but pleasent enough. Basic semi-sweet honey malt flavor, little to no bitterness. Simple but not bad. Texture is medium to full bodied for the style, somewhat resinous and oily and moderately thick.

On tap. Clear golden with a small, creamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts and fruit. Medium body, rather sweet and clean malts with a subdued bitterness. Very fresh and quaffable. 250709

22oz bottle-A clear golden body with a small covering for ahead. Aroma of hops, wheat, and grass. Taste of wheat, citrus, and hops. Not bad but still and American wheat.
