Commercial Description:
An American style light bodied wheat ale that is refreshingly flavorful. Crystal wheat ale was inspired by Pyramid’s first beer in 1984 the wheaten ale, which was the first year round wheat beer brewed in America since prohibition

22oz bottle-A clear golden body with a small covering for ahead. Aroma of hops, wheat, and grass. Taste of wheat, citrus, and hops. Not bad but still and American wheat.

Pours pale gold with a thin creamy white head. Aroma is wheat, grassy and citrus hops, and a bit peppery. Flavor is wheaty, some lemon, white pepper, grassy hops, and a little crusty white bread. FInish is crisp, wheat and grass. Body is thin and slick with a nice fizz balance. Would be a great summer beer, can’t knock the beer for the fact that it is definitely not.

Bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a decent, active, frothy, white head that lasts. Taste is of wheat, yeast, grass and some citrus. Has a light wheat aroma. Oily body. Light, clean, refreshing and easy to drink. Would be great on a hot day and is worth getting when on sale. On a side note, I liked this beer better from the bottle.

Semi murky pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma of perfume-like sweet malt and a touch of yeast. Taste of sweet malts a little thin with a semi-dry finish. Pretty much a middle of the road beer.

Bottle: Visions of light golden effervescense, nose is light wheat, some malt, flavor is light also, some wheat, malt and yeast... an easy drinking quaffer, a decent upgrade from the macro lagers, won’t blindside a newbie.

Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow body with a small, thinning, white head. Smell: Altogether mild aroma of wheat, light citrus, and an even lighter yeastiness. Taste: Weak wheat malt taste with a medium sweetness. Hint of citrus fruit. Slight yeastiness. Faintly floral hoppiness with tiny amount of bitterness. Clean, drying finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation, though a bit prickly. Drinkability: We got a real snoozer on our hands here, but I guess it could be worse.

Draft from the brewery. My bartender told me this was basically a filtered version of the Hefeweisen, and that’s basically what it was. Slightly watered down appearance. Slightly watered down aroma of citrus. Slightly watered down flavors of lemon and citrus. Overall, well you get the drift...
