Commercial Description:
An American style light bodied wheat ale that is refreshingly flavorful. Crystal wheat ale was inspired by Pyramid’s first beer in 1984 the wheaten ale, which was the first year round wheat beer brewed in America since prohibition

Slight sour milk odor. For a crystal wheat, it’s a bit cloudy with a lemon yellow color to it. Kind of a clean crisp malt flavor. Overall it’s OK, but nothing too outstanding...

Draft from the brewery. My bartender told me this was basically a filtered version of the Hefeweisen, and that’s basically what it was. Slightly watered down appearance. Slightly watered down aroma of citrus. Slightly watered down flavors of lemon and citrus. Overall, well you get the drift...

Bottle from John’s Market in Portland, OR. Brassy gold color with a slight white head. Aroma of wheat. Hop? Doubtful. Surprising fruit - like apricot. Body is near medium; carbonation is coarse. Finish is light fruit, but some bitter lurks beneath. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Clear gold with a good amount of visible carbonation. Small white fizzy head that lasts about a minute and becomes a thin uneven layer. Nose is honey and yeast but is not substantial. Flavor is also thin with some malt, corn, fruit and a funky bitterness. Fizzy and watery feel. An underwhelming beer.

Deep gold pour with off-white head. Hopcit and pale malt in the nose and taset, with apricoty fruit in the flavor as well, but the balance falls off late. Not bad, but not that great either. This one started very apricotty fruity for me, and trailed bitter late, which seems to be the consensus here.

12 oz bottle from enniskillen; Nose of grain and light banana esters; urine yellow with a medium pale yellow head; flavor has a pepperiness to it, a minor hop bitterness, and light fruity-peachy sweetness. Decent wheat but only very light estery notes.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is raisin and wheat. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet malt with raisin and banana. Not too much going on with this wheat ale from Pyramid.
