Im not sure what a Kolsch style ale is, but it doesn’t have the bight of a common Ale. It has more of a lager taste. Its crisp and refreshing. Good to wash down a burger, but not for evening drinking

Bottle. Nice golden color - not too yellow or resembling urine. Pleasant, sweet malty smell but nothing complex about it at all. Crisp wateryflavor. A little watery and too carbonated - but drinkable. Reminds me of green tea - the taste it leaves on the lips. A little powdery in the aftertaste.

Lightly hazed dirty straw color with a smallish white head. Odd bubblegum and wheat aroma. Some hints of citrus. Dish towel, soap and wheat flavors. A "dirty" dish rag at that. Citrus and earthy grains . Blah. Missing many of the things I am looking for a clean lightly fruity and crisp kolsch.

Not bad, but definitely not great. Far too mild. The flavor that’s there is nice, but it’s so weak. Still, it’s a refreshing beer, easy as water to drink, and would probably be good on a sweltering-hot summer day when you don’t want anything heavy but can’t bring yourself to drink a macro.

8/15/07 From the bottle. Aroma is very low, yeasty, with caramel and very light sulfur. Appearance is clear dark yellow with a moderate white head. Flavor is sweet malt forward, almost wheaty, with low bittering and some light fruit esters. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a medium carb feel and a very dry finish. Overall, good and to style. Not exciting, but refreshing and easy drinking.

Honey color with some carbonation and a small head. Flavor is honey but this is not a sweet beer. An effervescent feel is the nicest quality here. A mild tartness matches the light bitterness provided by the hops. Finish is even drier with a bit more bitterness. Interestingly, the honey flavor also peaks.

had this on draft at red robins in silverdale, the waitress said that it was like an Amber but more bitter... :oS anywho, was not that impressed. looks golden with not much of a head. taste was watery, and not to flavorful, it was crisp though. im sure that it was better than i felt at the time when i was in anticipation for something bitter.

Pours a very clear and brilliant yellow shade of gold with a thin white head. The aroma had hints of sweet malts and yeast, but was very light. The flavor is also crisp, clean, and very light. There are hints of crystal malts, honey, yeast, and the slightest balance of hops. The beer finishes slightly dry. The mouthfeel is highly carbonated and light in body. Overall, a bit too watery - I know Kolsch is delicate and mild, but this was a touch too far in that direction - just a bit more malt flavor would have really improved it.
