Flavor – Nice easy drinking amber ale with hops and good malts.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, great texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – A very nice easy drinking beer. Has some great flavors. I liked this beer.
Braudog (3461), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 15, 2008 1/2 pint on nitro at Barclay’s in Oakland. Solid cream top over an amber-colored, clear brew. Nutty buddy! Milky caramel. Doesn’t lend itself well to the nitro delivery, IMHO. (#3416, 4/12/2008) elelwarren (130), SF Bay area, California, USA Nov 25, 2007 Updated: Dec 1, 2007Tasted at Pyramid’s Berkeley brewpub as a taster set w/5 other beers. Beautiful in the glass. Darker than most pale ales, with a thick foamy head. Appeared more like a dark lager or British strong ale.
Very floral, both in flavor and odor. What surprised me, though, was the overwhelming & unappealing wateriness in the middle third; flavor simply dissipated! Floral hop ending helped save the beer. I am not sure why this is called a pale ale. Angeloregon (1481), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 19, 2007 On tap at MacTarnahan’s tap room--Poured a cascading creamy tawny-golden nitro body with a fluffy ice cream head. Mouth feel was rich and desert-like. Light and very quaffable. Nose of spicy and floral hops. Slightly metallic but not so much that it hindered the overall impression of this brew. Clean and pleasant silken finish. after4ever (1628), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 7, 2007 Draft at the Safeco Field brewpub. Pours light coppery amber with densely moussy but very thin off-white head. Plenty of lace. Sour sweaty nose, some CO2 and yeast there. Watery, lightly fizzy attack. Bitter toast and light aluminum notes. Fairly clean finish.
