Commercial Description:
Pyramid Draught Pale Ale - Nitrogenated version of our Gold Medal Winning MacTarnahan’s Amber Ale.

As the draft version of Pyramid Pale Ale , our DPA is served in the Irish style with a blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide - giving it a uniquely smooth flavor reminiscent of Britain’s famous hand-pulled cask ales.

Pyramid Brewery: Nice copper color....1/4" creamy head....probably because of the nitro. Creamy mouth feel with a little hops. Odd mineral taste that leaves the mouth a bit metallic.

Brewpub: Clear bright reddish amber, creamy head (nitro for sure). Grainy malt aroma, slightly fruity. Smooth, malty palate, mildly citrussy in the finish. Maybe interesting if it wasn’t nitro, but otherwise pretty boring.

Nice creamy white head, clear amber color.Aroma is lacking, but slightly malty. Flavor is much the same way, hops are completely absent. One good thing about this beer is that it does have a very nice texture, thanks to the nitro. Full-bodied. Very smooth for a pale, but not much else.

It was interested to have the taste of a head familiar to the likes of guinness drought on this pale ale. There was no distinctive taste otherwise. Can't say it was very impressive.

on tap at brewery in berkley: orange brown color with tight creamy head. slightly bitter. not alot of complexity here. however, i liked it more then others. something a little different, i guess nobody liked it because at one time you could find it everywhere on the west coast now its gone!!

Golden color with a thick head. The nitro loses much of the aroma and flavor of their normal pale-ale.

Did not like the nitrogen pour on this beer. It seemed to take away everythin else about the beer. I give them kudos for trying something different, just not for me. Mouth-feel is very full but not like a real cask ale. Too lively.

a gold/copper color. hardly any aroma, malty and sweet. the nitro takes away any flavor but still a very interesting beer!
