Aroma has fruit tones with light hoppiness & subtle malt undertones. The flavor is less assertive but more subtle and smooth than the regular version of their pale ale. Good balance between malts and the light but well-bittered hops. Finish is medium-dry and very smooth. Body is good for a pale and the balance is helped by the nitrogenation. Some will find this brew too "restrained"--and quite apart from the unusual nitro treatment for a pale, is very much in the English style. I like its subtlety and balance. Mouth feel was rich and desert-like. Light and very quaffable. Nose of spicy and floral hops. Slightly metallic but not so much that it hindered the overall impression of this brew. Clean and pleasant silken finish. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2004 It was interested to have the taste of a head familiar to the likes of guinness drought on this pale ale. There was no distinctive taste otherwise. Can't say it was very impressive. sarie99 (49), San Francisco, USA
