ChazMania (408), Pasadena, California, USA May 26, 2008 Bottled. This is a decent Hefe, but seems to really need a lemon wedge. Without the lemon, it’s a bit flat and yeast like. With the Lemon wedge, it really opens up. I know hard core RB folks are likely anti Lemon wedge, but for this beer, I like. Also, and perhaps my wife likes this beer with the Lemon. killjoy966 (215), Washington, USA May 20, 2008 Although the heavily advertised "unfiltered" nature of this hefeweizen is supposed to excuse it’s cloudiness, I can’t help but find it lazy, to say the least. Tastes of bread and banana, but just barely. Not much to love, yet not much to hate, either. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA May 18, 2008 ~Pours a very cloudy golden colour with fluffy whte head.
~Smells wheaty with lemon
~Has a glass bottle taste. Wheaty and light lemony.
~Medium feel quick finish.
~This is decent. I like Widmer’s Hefe better. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 18, 2008 Pours a bright cloudy yellow body, with a large fluffy white head. Notcieable sediment floating around in the glass. Aroma was sweet and full of grass, wheat and cloves. Texture was wheaty, and smooth yet not overly rich. RunDWP (203), San Jose, California, USA May 18, 2008 Bottled. Slight yeasty aroma. Pour a orange-yellow color with vert little head. Yeasty, bread dough like flavor with slight fruity notes of apricot or citrus. Slight hop kick at the finish. Works for me as either a summer drinking beer, or would pair well with a lot of foods. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 9, 2008 Unfiltered yellow-orange with large white head. Aroma of wheat and cloves. Semi watery malty body with taste of banana and clove. A little sweet and a little chalky. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA May 8, 2008 I think this one is a nice easy drinker. Not a whole lot of flavor, but not overly dry. Goes down nice. Theres certainly nothing offensive about this one. rayOfBeer (316), El Cerrito, California, USA May 6, 2008 Poured from tap at Berkeley Pyramid ale house a cloudy amber blonde with medium size white head. Aroma of malt, bread, and very light banana. Flavor is caramel, malt sweetness, with a little bread and tartness. The palate has no spice and very little carbonation tang. Overall this beer has ok flavor and is easy to drink, but very few characteristics of a hefeweizen.
