| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2007 OK, I’m not going to get into the whole American Wheat vs. Hefeweizen thing with this one so I shall proceed to simply rate this wheat beer as it is, which is rather decent overall. Faint wheaty malty aroma, slightly fruity and nice. Pretty orange golden pour with a decent head and a touch of lacing, cloudy with the yeast the beer aquires a more vibrant appearance. Nice and fluffy on the palate, filling and extremely smooth. This one drinks easy and satisfies quickly. Flavorful for an American Wheat, but not close to an authentic Hefe the flavor is still solid. Heavy wheat influence, lightly fruity, clean and balanced. This is a solid brew. 17thfloor (1447), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Mmm...sudsy white head yes... cloudy yes... dark orange??? wtf? This neither really looks nor tastes like a German hefeweizen.. o wait I’ve been fooled its an American Wheat. I guess it is darker since they added the extra malt. Its decent beer, but if youre going to write "hefeweizen" on the bottle make it in the German style... if not.. write "American Wheat"
Dusty sweet aroma, Flavor is smooth and sugary-sweet with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Very watery... riversideAK (2669), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 10, 2007 God this is just an awful beer. I dont know how it is rated so highly. This and Widmer are both bad. It does not have any real flavor and is pretty much disgusting, both inside and out. Would not drink unless it is the only thing available, and even then I might still have a Pepsi or Coke. TyRip (40), Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 4, 2007 This beer starts out looking alright but ends up falling short on everything in my opinion. Aroma is pretty typical for a Hefe, but still has a watery, hollow quality. Taste gave a similar experience. Finish seems alright as well, but then gives a long wateriness followed by a slight hop flavor, then more long water aftertaste. Overall it seems alright, but with a little thought and careful tasting I realized it just comes up short all around. MrBeer (276), Erie, Pennsylvania, USA
