Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA May 19, 2007 Pour was a dull, cloudy gold color with a decent white head that left some average lacing. There was no vibrancy beneath the cloudiness, as drab looking a beer as I can remember encountering. The aroma was of sourdough bread, the flavor was of unsweetened iced tea. A bizarre bitterness that I really didn’t enjoy. Not really very good. japewang (42), USA May 19, 2007 Bottle. Overall Decent. I agree there are better hefes out there. Pour is golden/orange, very little head. Looks almost sickly. Much better out of the tap than bottle. Average hefeweizen. Nothing special, nothing awful. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA May 17, 2007 Even for an american wheat hefe this is weak. Just not much flavor to it and what it has is rather aweful. Nothing stands out, wheat taste is watery and bland. I also don’t get where they get crisp from, there is almost no carbonation, leading to very little dryness, watery and flat mouthfeel, this beer is the opposite of crisp. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA May 15, 2007 middle of the road Hefe. I agree with many other reviewers here. Not much to say. there are many other better hefes out there. Try them. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA May 15, 2007 12 oz Bottle-Poured an orange/copper color w/absolutely no head & almost no aroma, some faint hops. This beer didn’t look like much, & it didn’t taste like much either. Very bland, way to dark & clear for a Hefeweizen. Not your typical cloudy yellow color of an Americam Wheat. Faint week hop flavor, no real finish. About the best thing I could say about this beer is it didn’t taste bad; it didn’t taste like anyhting. I wouldn’t drink this again. BustedFlat (552), Edina, Minnesota, USA May 2, 2007 I had low expectations for this one reading some of the other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. It poured cloudy yellow with very little head and little or no aroma. For me the taste was all caramel and malt. I did not expect this from a wheat beer. I am more of a malt guy than a hop guy or wheat guy, so I liked that. Not great, but pretty good for this style.
nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 2, 2007 Updated: May 29, 2007Bottle. Pours hazy peach-golden with large creamy, lasting head. Aroma is mildly spicy bread yeast. Taste is smooth white bread, with a refreshing light sourness. Nice bready, wheat aftertaste seems to coat the inside of my mouth. I really like most Bavarian wheat beers; don’t usually like the American style wheat so much, but this one is pleasantly surprising. Drinkable, mild taste; mostly wheat with a nice balance between the tart and sweet. Some here describe it as bland, but the tendency towards accenting either the sweetness or the citric acid qualities is what I hate about most American wheats. Excellent choice when selection is limited. pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Apr 14, 2007 Bottle. Not really my style, but I figured I’d give it a shot. Pours cloudy orange with a white head. Not much aroma. Body is pretty thin, some fruit, yeast and maybe some hop here and there. Overall light flavor
