Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Draft at Pyramid Alehouse, Seattle. Very similar to the Apricot Weizen -- replace apricot notes with lemon ones. While hefes are Pyramids signature, I’m not sure this is among the best domestic wheats I’ve had (it’s no Liberty Summer Ale). Drinkable but also not particularly remarkable.

Probably my favorite Pyramid Brew. Pours light golden color with a thick white head. Has a good array of flavors in the brew that have a pleasent aftertaste. Worth a try if you can find it, an above average hefe.

bottle split over at Volgon’s. nice appearance, hazy golden in color with medium to high carbonation. Aroma was slight citrus/lemon and grainy. Taste was citrus/lemon notes with dry grains and a thin body. Finishes unpleasantly astrigent. Not very good.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden orange and is cloudy as a hefe should be. Thin head which disappears quickly. Also noticed a great deal of bubbles. Aroma was of malt and citrus. Flavor was nice, yet unremarkable. Typical wheat, citrus, yeast flavor of many hefes. Finish was thin, somewhat watery, and crisp.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a cloudy pale orange color with alabaster bubbles around the edges. Sweet malt, dough/bread, and citrus notes. Smooth and effervescent. Light malty ending with grassy notes.

Bottle: Looks great with its cloudy orange and a thin white head, falls apart with a weak grain and lemon aroma, mellow carbonation and medium body can’t save it, the sour-laced taste and weak ending seal the deal.

Still one of my favorite hefes. I like the drinkability and the lighter taste of the hefe. Great with or without lemon. Wheat taste really comes out, like drinking a fresh wheat roll. Refreshing and light while still very flavorful.

Pours with a large foamy head. Cloudy light amber. Tastes of yeast, bananas and a little salty. Nothing too special.
