Commercial Description:
The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

On tap at Kincaid’s in Bloomington, MN. I should note that I had this beer with a lemon slice added, but it was not squeezed. The aroma contains the clean, soapy smell of yeast, cinnamon, and lemon sharpness. It was weak by the standards of the style, and it became a bit pungent as I drank. Pours a cloudy, opaque orange with not enough frothy white head; looks like apricot nectar in the glass. Initial taste is slightly off, a bit macro pale lager-like for some reason. It doesn’t have much of that classic hefeweizen taste (perhaps because it’s really an American wheat). I taste orange and a slight lemon sourness (I don’t think it’s from the lemon slice). There is a bit of hops bitterness, surprisingly. This medium to full-bodied beer is crisp, clean, refreshing, and lively in the palate. The taste improved as I drank despite the fact that the aroma got worse. Like a lot of American wheats, Pyramid Hefeweizen just makes you shrug your shoulders in indifference, especially when not consumed in the summer.

amber color. cloudy, unfiltered. small, dissipating head. smell: orange. citrus taste with some subtle banana. not as sweet as blue moon, but otherwise very similar. faint hoppy aftertaste. mouth feel is light and smooth. it makes me want to keep sipping. carbonation is just right! drinkability: this is a very easy to drink beer. it sits a little heavy in the gut, but not too much. i would totally want 2. overall, i think this beer is excellent. it was good to the last ounce! it would be a good session beer for me.

Im not a big fan of hefeweizen regardless, but Pyramid’s hef isnt anything special by any means. Very, very bland and flavorless. Basically just a drinkable beer, cheap.

Fairly typical - cloudy yellow, decent white head, mildly fruity aroma and flavor with all the normal wheat characteristic. The only issue was a rather pronounced stale, cardboardy flavor and aroma.

Typical hefe, nice yellow/golden cloudy color. Not too bad of a hefe but there are better ones out there, has more of a bitter taste than preferred with weis beers. Easy to drink good summer beer.

Tried it on tap. No head with typical hefeweizen color. Yeasty, citrus flovor with some bitter hops at the finish. OK, but not my favorite of this style.

Pleasant brew with typical hefeweizen characteristics. Has a good flavor although the Apricot Hefeweizen has a little more flavor.

Bottle: Cloudy body with a off white head that was a little small for the style. The aroma included hops, banana and some spice (not sure what, but did seem like clove...) Flavor did not interest me, average everything you get in a wheat beer...There were a few points that lacked any flavor as the beer went down. Saddly, I think the lemon acutally helped this one...
